In this collage; preoperative, immediate postoperative, 1 week after surgery, and 1 month after surgery photos are seen. Most of the edema and bruising are resolved at the end of the first week.

What can patients expect after rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a challenging surgery. This needs to be acknowledged. Despite the significantly reduced trauma during the bone cuts with ultrasonic devices, there is still swelling and some bruising postoperatively. However, these symptoms rapidly decrease after the third day and are largely corrected by the first week. Since there will also be swelling inside the nose, I place a silicone splint at the end of the surgery and remove it 3-4 days later. Removing these thin splints does not harm the patient. I also remove the plastic splint on the nasal dorsum after one week. However, it should not be thought that the healing is over when the splint is removed. For the next 6 weeks, it is necessary to avoid any trauma, not use heavy glasses, refrain from heavy exercise, wash the inside of the nose frequently, apply moistening drops, and attend doctor check-ups. Shower is allowed from the second day. Eating and drinking are not restricted at all.
