What is a liquid rhinoplasty (nose filler injection)?
Liquid rhinoplasty, also known as nose filler injection, is a non-surgical procedure that can help individuals who are unhappy with the shape of their nose. This treatment is preferred by those who do not want to undergo surgery. It is effective if the nasal hump, nasal tip drooping, or axis deviation is small enough to be concealed with filler. Nose filler can also be used for touch-ups after rhinoplasty irregularities.
The filler adds volume to the nose, so the overall size of the nose and the angle between the nose and the forehead shouldn't be excessive. In individuals with a low septocolumellar angle (from the upper lip to the nose), the filler can help reduce nasal congestion to some extent.
“For suitable candidates, injections of less than 1cc can achieve very pleasing results.”
Hyaluronic acid fillers with high lift capacity and cross-linking ratio are preferred for nose fillers. If desired, the procedure can be performed painlessly and comfortably with a regional nerve block. The effects of nose filler can last 2 years, and the duration can be extended by replenishing the decreased amount during follow-up appointments. The filler can be dissolved if desired to reverse the procedure, just like all hyaluronic acid fillers.
