Partial tonsillectomy for enlarged tonsils ensures minimal post-operative pain.
“That’s why I preferred partial tonsillectomy for my children”
How tonsil/adenoid surgeries are done?
While tonsil and adenoid surgeries are typically performed between the ages of 3-6, they can be conducted at any age. For tonsil surgeries performed due to infection, complete removal of the tonsils is recommended. However, when the size of the tonsils is the primary concern, partial tonsillectomy techniques that reduce but do not completely remove the tonsils, are preferred to minimize postoperative pain. In adenoid surgeries, as the organ is not encapsulated, a near-total removal is usually performed.
