It is essential to avoid the use of a blood-stopping tool (monopolar cautery) used in surgeries and to prevent any impact on the head. Although cochlear implants have become highly reliable devices based on experiences gained from hundreds of thousands of users over decades, device replacement can still be done in case of a malfunction.
